Informality
Informality in the economy means working or doing business without officially registering with the government. This includes jobs like street vending, unregistered construction work, or small shops that don’t pay taxes. While informal work can help people earn money, it often means no job security, health insurance, or legal protections. In many countries, a large part of the economy is informal, making it harder for governments to collect taxes, provide public services, and measure the actual size of the economy.
